Charged 'Large and Bulky Item' Fees for Regular Plus-Size Clothing

A plus-size customer's first Poplin order included an $8-per-item 'large and bulky' surcharge applied to four ordinary sweaters/cardigans, pushing a 45-lb order to $77. The customer and several commenters, including another plus-size Poplin user and a self-identified Laundry Pro, said the surcharge is meant for items like comforters and duvets, not regular clothing regardless of size, and that this was specific to the individual Pro rather than a company-wide policy. After the customer left a critical review, Poplin refunded the four bulky-item charges.
